$12.00 beauty
I recently purchased a dozen cleanskin Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon for $150.00. They were recommended to me by a friend and workmate who assured me they were worth the cost. This friend has a sound track record in red wine ie he has tried plenty in the past. Just before a meal of penne pasta bolognaise (beef)laced with anchovies, kalamata olives and freshly grated parmesan cheese. I opened the bottle to be greeted immediately (no breathing necessary)with a fresh clean aroma. On tasting, the fruitiness was quite apparent along with the realisation this wine was for drinking now and would probably not hold up to any long term cellaring. It certainly proved to be a terrific companion to the pasta. 8 out of ten for a wine meant to be consumed sooner rather than later.
